Growth and development are inevitable, but growth should enhance our quality of life. Data centers have emerged as a major concern. There are at least five currently planned in the CSRA, with over 17 million square feet of data center space planned for Columbia County alone.
The impact of noise, air, and water pollution on our neighborhoods, schools, agricultural areas, and recreational lands will be catastrophic if we continue rocketing forward. County governance should be the first line of defense. Growth should never outpace infrastructure, strain county services or devastate property values.
Focus Areas:
FOLLOW Master Plans that have been vetted through residents
Install guardrails on high impact developments to mitigate risk and impact on the community, environment and other local and regional stakeholders.
Increase ABA accessibility to public facilities and services.
Implement policy and ordinances that are effective in mitigating risk and uphold the long-term health of county residents and environment.
Advocate for legislation at the State and Federal level for legislation that protects residents.
From beautiful natural spaces to schools, special events, and performance venues, Columbia County has much to draw in new residents and families. To me, our greatest asset is the people who care deeply about this community.
I am grateful to live here, to listen to residents’ concerns, respond with the community’s best interests at heart, and pursue continuous improvement.
Focus Areas:
Increase responsiveness and access to elected county officials.
Enhance community engagement and transparency through timely, multi-channel communication, GIS tools and automated notifications.
Establish an independent non-partisan Citizens Commission and Countywide Youth Commission to represent a broad spectrum of community needs and serve in an advisory role and increase civic engagement.
Comply with Georgia's Open Meeting Act to ensure all county business is transparent and open to public view and comment.
County-level governance is where the rubber meets the road. Effective management and leadership—not partisan politics or business as usual—drive real results.
I want to focus on local solutions to local problems and partner with local, regional, and state stakeholders to amplify our voice and achieve meaningful outcomes for Columbia County.
